in: MNOC Masters Nationals (Oct 9–10, 2021 - Onamia, MN, US)

After having a lovely time sharing accommodations for both the Griz-O 2-day event in May and the Tahoe 2021 event with wonderful orienteering companions, I'm again looking for orienteers interested in sharing a house close to the meet site that I'll book via Airbnb or VRBO or similar. Exact location and price will depend on the number of folks interested. If you'd like to inquire about the options, please email me at njduprey@gmail.com. Thanks!

Eddy's, one of the places mentioned by the organizers, also has a few cabins and at least one suite with a living room and two bedrooms. Just outside the park.
A potential option for small groups. (Would probably be fun if all the cabins were filled with orienteers! We just got a regular hotel room there.)

Yes, I'm looking into Eddy's as well, but there seems to be some question about being able to provide dishes with the kitchen supplies due to Covid? The reservationist said that we can have a stove and refrigerator, but not the other supplies. It is an option though which I can explore, if interested.

We had 2 of the Eddy's cabins for the juniors at the 2017 Team Trials, but I did not stay with them, we stayed in a hotel room. Staying in a hotel room this time around, too. Cabins were nice, and one had a washer and dryer, if I remember correctly

We have a house with space still available for anyone interested. 5-6 miles from the park Cost is $120 per person for the two nights.

It's looking like a great group of orienteers in the house, and there is still space for a couple more folks. Feel free to email me at njduprey@gmail.com if interested.

We just received word from Eddy's that group rates are going to be granted for the event, that they would allow use of a conference room for the OUSA Board (correction from my earlier post) meeting, and that they would re-open the restaurant for Friday and Saturday night. This has been a bit trying.... as they were not only unsure of being able to support a large group, but also closing the restaurant. Finding labor was the cited issue. We were vetting the Day 2 courses yesterday and stopped in at the restaurant before heading back to the TCs. The menu was limited, but the food was good.

What are the group rates? We were hesitant to commit to a reservation we couldn’t cancel, but that would be a great spot if there are still vacancies (and a group rate is a bonus).

We made a reservation there a few weeks ago; should we cancel/rebook? Or just call them? Or...?
Good news about the restaurant. Thanks for all your efforts.

Clarification - The meeting being held at the Masters Nationals in Minnesota is an OUSA Board meeting, not the Annual Meeting.

The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 21 and will be held virtually.

I've asked for additional info on group rate codes and what "group rate" means.

Eddy's Resort, located just outside Mille Lacs Kathio State Park. To get our group rate, use the code is MN1008E.The group rates are $129 for standard rooms and $159 for lakeside (not including applicable taxes). Call 1-800-468-3517 to make your reservation. If you booked your room(s) before this group code was available, simply call that phone number and ask them to add your room to the block of rooms and apply the discount. The Launch Bar and Grille at Eddy's Resort will be open with limited hours and menu.

I checked out the online reservation site...
It's by a 3rd party (Reservation Desk), and there is no place to enter group codes, so the phone call is required (unless you want to pay $60/night more, pretax)

EDIT: The phone answering system will say "Grand Casino reservations". This is actually CORRECT.

I just called and was told the group rate was overbooked. But then I got the group rate. So ... worth trying if you haven't already.
