| prez now retired: | Tried it once and was fricken hard when you have no upper body strength. Suspect it is all in the technique to make it look easy. |

| TheInvisibleLog: | Tried it also. Upper body strength is only needed when you have poor technique. But I suspect with good technique it becomes a matter of screaming calf muscles. Anyway, I was terrified and never went back. |

| Oxoman: | I was happy enough climbing on both snow and ice until I realised what was above might fall on me. Had a similar experience on rock too once when I got to the top and discovered the fixed rope had been tied off around a boulder sitting on a scree slope. |

| TheInvisibleLog: | Ok. With all these climbers perhaps we need an old farts climbing trip. |

| Uncle JiM: | will the old farts climbing trip include non climbers, but i suppose I have climbed once or twice |

| blairtrewin: | Forgot to mention that at one point a chunk of ice fell off the waterfall and bounced straight into a pot of something cooking on a campstove at the bottom. |

| TheInvisibleLog: | Just goes to show cooking is dangerous. There would be lots of cooking at an old farts climbing trip. |

| Oxoman: | At least the ice didn't go in the wine glass. I'm afraid the old farts have moved on from beer, green ginger wine and apple cider. Such decadence!!! |
