Thanks everyone. They are doing great, actually. After about a month in the new place, they have settled in, and they've made friends. Mom joined the knitting club and is knitting again! Although she did tell me that she's the best knitter there, but the other ladies are trying. :-)

Don has found some friends in a veteran's group, and they both attend the thrice-weekly happy hours. Don got in a bit of trouble at the first one when he brought his own beer (he didn't approve of the one being served), but he's adjusted to drinking the house brand.

They go for walks around the building, chatting with folks. Don works out in the gym on some mornings. They both rave about the food, which is a relief. My brother and sister-in-law live nearby, so they take Mom and Don out for field trips and have them over for dinner every Sunday.

And their house is about to go to closing, selling for much, much more than we had thought it would. So, all in all, it's working out just great. So much better than I had hoped for, which is all a big relief.

Thanks for the update and the picture. They look good and content. It's been on my mind as I'm nearing the big seven zero (70 days :/ ( and counting down) and one never knows what awaits. Hearing of a good outcome is motivating to tackle the next stage in life. You are an inspiration in always getting back on your feet and helping out.
