A highway bridge in Pittsburgh, PA collapsed this morning. Fortunately there were only minor injuries. It looks like this bridge is on the WPOC Frick Park O-map, near CMU (google maps). There's a major path underneath it. I think this is a piece of the O-map with the bridge between controls 39 and 55:

Maybe sherpes has more info?

bridge in Pittsburgh collapsed early Friday, just hours before President Biden was due to visit the city to highlight his push for infrastructure improvement.

What are the chances it's just a coincidence?

There is a chance that articulated bus started its life in Ottawa. Apparently we sold some to Pittsburgh when our LRT was opening. How did it not go down? Those busses were not noted for their traction on snowy uphills.

Memories from the past. December 1, 2012, a memorable day in the small club of Western Pennsylvania Orienteering Club, a first-day-of-use of the newly-created Frick Park map.

The city announced that the park is closed. There will be heavy equipment soon in the park to haul out the debris. I guess that means we will not be having orienteering meets in this park for a while ...

Were any events at Frick on the WPOC schedule?

BTW, check out the pic on sherpes' park is closed link. The connection
between a support and one of the structural members had completely deteriorated.

Any pics of the underside of the bridge while it was still intact?
