Charlie: Well I was impressed with myself that I figured out who SRV was before you 'fessed up. This was one of the most touching pilgrimages since four intrepid orienteers ventured to Peace River Alta. to pay homage to the statue of 12-Foot Davis. I also unearthed a video but I can't recommend it.

Another touching pilgrimage from the same period involved the orienteers heading 38 miles up the Canol Road.

So there's a fine tradition.

jjcote: Well, the 12-Foot Davis thing was associated with a pilgrimage for me, but it wasn't for that statue.

(Looks like you did something wrong with the Canol Road link, Charlie -- it just bounces back to this discussion).

JanetT: The a href statement is missing an = sign.

Charlie: Yep. Fixed it. Pesky little devil.

I actually have a story about the real purpose of the pilgrimage, available on request.

Swampfox: Pilgrimage stories are always welcome here. But please take all soaps related stories to the appropriate (taxman) venue.

bubo: Almost two years ago the same story was discussed here on AP. Look about halfway down the page for the first reference made by jjcote...

Charlie: As Craig Murray said at the time about 12-foot Davis, "It's a good thing his name wasn't Johnson."
