Hammer: Leanimal! I've heard awesome things about your race design debut the other week. Congrats! Don't let those few idiots that don't want the sport to be fun or grow get you down. When I invented THOMASS about 15 years ago it was meant to be a 'keep it simple and maximize fun' type of event. Too bad that those (censored) people have to ruin it. Looking forward to getting this knee better and running in a future CN event some time soon. Good luck this weekend.

Leanimal: Hey Hammer,

Thanks for that although I have to admit I did get a good chuckle out of reading some of the comments. I am truly surprised that adults would write some of that stuff, people never cease to amaze me. It was great fun setting the course and testing it and I knew the copious amounts of snow we got that week would make it long but I didn't realize some people would object to snowshoes - the thought didn't even cross my mind. Can't please everyone.......This weekend should be a blast! Slice and I are looking to take down some of the boys - we'll see how that goes!

Tiny: > take down some of the boys

You guys really are becoming cougars.....

Just read the comments from your event. Man people suck. Who really cares snowshoes or no snowshoes.

Slice: Uh, we prefer the term Bobcougars.

Thanks.

Bash: I can tell you exactly who cares, Tiny - but I'll tell you outside of Attackpoint.

Leanimal managed to get the first 20 finishers across in the line within 10% of the winning time. That's every Thomass course designer's dream. On average, people with snowshoes did worse in the event than people without snowshoes. The few people who did well on snowshoes (Bob Miller, Denise Rispolie, Bill Wells, etc.) are some of southern Ontario's top endurance athletes, and this was a longer course than usual. No one should be surprised that they did well. The Thomass Series leader is a traditional orienteer who finished 3rd without snowshoes, but he was a top-calibre marathoner in his home country - so another endurance athlete.

Tiny: > Bobcougars.

Is that an attempt to make it sound less harsh?
