There are some serious problems with their algorithm. I'm currently listed as the Local Legend for 3 segments. Although it says I've made one effort on each segment in the past 90 days, which somehow qualifies me for this status, I have not actually recorded *any* efforts on two of the three segments - not just in the past 90 days but *ever*, according to Strava's own segment leaderboards. The 3rd segment was one I actually did ride but it was from a popular fat bike trail near Milton where I rode behind my friend, who is on Strava and rides there regularly. Hmm.

I think it’s mostly an excuse for them to mail bomb people. I probably got the status because I was the only one on a bike there since last fall. Then lost it to someone on March break.
If I wasn’t so lazy, I could probably go to the Marsh and become legendary again.
