| MTBjen: | so where is the long story about who kept up with who on the bike... who had to walk over small logs and sank into the gravel, and who rode off strongly like a strong, bike riding gazelle?
funny, btw, how the person who DREW the map didn't get as thrown by its inconsistencies as the person who was struggling under the unfamiliar man-eating bracken... |

| Tooms: | Oh come now, basest form of defence eh? I drew the map in 2000 and drew one particular hillside a few months ago that had 5 controls in it in total of the 20 or so we visited. And bracken just slows you down, it doesn't confuse you - especially "man" eating bracken, you, being of the fairer gender, would have just tip-toed through it a-la tulips! Get a compass biker-gal! And as for the riding, if you had chosen to slow down and savour the full flavour of the course rather than rollicking through it disdainfully at GT pace you may have had a more rewarding pedal-excursion. :-) |

| Tooms: | I have been overcome by honesty and feel like i should add that, yes, i cheated on the orienteering. Sat under the bracken like a troll, eating raisin toast, and jumped out just in time to look like i beat you back. And, far from being gazelle-like, i ride a mountain bike like a frightened kitten. I couldn't keep up with your awesome power because i had to keep stopping to collect my nerves...

| Tooms: | I should add, to the pretender who has logged on under my alias whoever you are (gee I wonder), phantom-ess phunny gal, that the frightened kitten will be a Roaring and Raging Lion when the King of the Forest finds your AP log unsigned-out in the future!
