Urban:
Is anybody aware of what Media Coverage there is likely to be for Orienteering at the upcoming World Games? Is there likely to be TV coverage or Web Streaming at all.
Thanks.

Sandy:
My understanding is that the Sprint on Friday will have live TV coverage of some sort and that the Middle and Relay on Saturday and Sunday will have web streaming. But I don't know any details.

Live-stream - arena & web - are planned from what I've been told, but the details are have not become public as of yet. Once I have details, they will be announced via Orienteering USA Facebook as well as our other social media channels.

CBS Sports will also be doing daily 1-hour highlight shows each day, but who knows if the orienteering events will make the cut for that.

I'll try to remember to update this thread with media information when it is confirmed as well.

Is there a list of the athletes participating somewhere?
Jul 2, 2022 4:59 PM #
cmorse:
The athlete list on the TWG site is woefully short on names.

TeamUSA will be represented by Greg Ahlswede (DVOA), Joe Barrett (QOC), Alison Campbell (DVOA/STAG) and Alison Crocker (CROC). Joe Barrett and Alison Campbell competed this past week at Sprint WOC in Denmark.

Only the athletes who received personal starts are listed on the TWG site.
I keep waiting for a list, but I'm guessing at this point we won't get one until the o' events start or are about to.

Canada will be represented by Emma Waddington, Carol Walker, Damian Konotopetz, and myself (Robert Graham)

Does anybody know who the Australian team is? I think there were some changes to the original announced team.

Note that Kasper Fosser has a personal spot, which is why there are 3 Norwegian men.
This is great, keep the names coming!
I am really looking forward to watching the races, to see some of these athletes in person for the first time.

Aston has a busy time of it - Australia to WOC in Europe to WG in North America back to WUOC in Europe and presumably back to Australia at some point.

I've barely flown anywhere this year and not at all internationally for the past three (up until now).
