Good luck, Brad.
You'll be back playing the piano in no time.
What's the tune?....Knee's up Mother Brown or Heads, shoulders, knee's and toes?
I Kneed a Hero?
and thanks Steve ;-)
That's fantastic! Hope you recover quickly! Being very nosy, what was the medical name of the procedure?
Ooh it started off as just an arthroscopy but ended up as (ahem) "multiple arthroscopic operation on knee (including meniscectomy, chondroplasty, drilling or microfracture)". If it was an MOT I'd have failed on several points :-D. Totally recommend the surgeon if you're interested in getting a second opinion, he was way more positive than the doom & gloom NHS. Professor Gordon Mackay - Google The Mackay Clinic.
That sounds great. I asked the NHS doctors about the drilling thing: apparently I'm 20 years too old for it...
Nhs is just an emergency care service now. We find ourselves in a two tier healthcare system, whether we like it or not.
I saw Gordon McKay a few years back for my hip. He is very much Scotlands Mr knee (I wanted him to take out a screw that has rubbed on my hip flexor for the past 24 years but alas the screw is still holding broken things together). Very amused by the 3 piece tweed suit. Perhaps that’s just a winter thing and he prefers a boater or Panama hat this time of year!
He is pretty good with ankles too, removed three bits of bone from my ankle in 2003, it has been fine since! Hope you get the same with your knee. I have drink plenty of wine since he operated on me so I presume that is the key to full recovery :)
I think that I can get on board with your idea of some medicinal tonic, Jon! Too hot to do much other than lie around in the sunshine sipping Pinot Grigio, anyway - I'm not complaining about this sort of weather for recuperation purposes :-).
Claire, ha ha, he is still Mr 3-Piece, very dapper. He actually lives across the cul-de-sac from Rupert and Helen here in Dunblane so if I wanted to check out his summer attire I wouldn't have far to go! TBH if this knee is a success the other one isn't going to be far behind it, maybe I should ask for mates rates
