Hi all, does anyone have a presentation that shows off orienteering for a high school audience that they like and are willing to share?
What sort of information to excitement ratio are you aiming for?
When I've tabled at running expos (for young adults), I've looped through a few short YouTube videos, like the Puresive/Hubmann ones.
Not very instructional, but show-offy.
Mostly excitement. So yes, that sounds pretty good. I'm thinking fifteen minutes max, focused on graphics/videos.
(I have a good informational slide deck already, based on Mike Minium's materials.)
I would just show the
Judith Wyder Red Bull Adventures video and hand out a stack of maps for the closest area. Get them to create their own course in groups and then get outside. Goodness me, the world does not need more Powerpoint :)
My list of videos - hasn't been updated for a while but has good ones.
