Just wanted to give a shout out to the entire event team for last weekend. I had a lot of fun, the orienteering was enjoyable, and the weather was delightful. Thanks!

Yes, thanks for a really fun weekend! So much fun to orienteer in New England again. The map was great, and I particularly enjoyed my Red course on Day 2!

The event was fantastic - well organized, loved the thorn-free forest :) and the park was just beautiful. The courses made great use of the terrain, and I especially appreciated how the green was used to create route choice without forcing us to bash through it.

And as Jon noted at the awards, NEOC rejected mapping the area back in 1998. Sometimes it's best to have lots of eyes do a recon. I was quite leery going in, as I had read the letters assessing the area from back then. There are some substantial laurel farms, but the courses nicely avoided them, and as pointed out, was used to create numerous route choices for many of the legs. AND we should give whomever was in charge of the weather a bonus!
