Amazing work on an epic 4 days, you must be so fit!!!

kido:
Thanks guys! I think I'm fitter than I've been for a while, still well behind some of those absolute legends who won each day though!

Nice one! Sounds brutal!

Great work - did you manage not to get snowed upon?

Wow! 12 min pb on mystic is amazing. The crap weather must suit you

Fantastic effort Aislinn! Great fighting spirit right to the end :)

Thanks so much everyone! Jenny we avoided being snowed on by avoiding going to the summit of Hotham - there was meant to be snow down to 900m on Tuesday but I think Mystic is only just over that and we didn't get any snow there.

Jayne - pretty sure the weather was terrible in 2018 as well! But I was much less fit and also had a broken hand in a cast...

Looking at the temperature numbers I don't think the snow level would have lowered below 1200m until the afternoon. Probably bottomed out around 700-800 during the evening.

Great runs Aislinn! I always follow this race and I'm very jealous the first couple of days, but much less by the end!

Thanks Mark and Anna! Haha, totally agreed - I can't say I was too unhappy about not having to go to the top of Hotham, and Mystic is just yuk generally! I never understand why the people who choose to hike the 4 Peaks even bother with the last day, what a horrible walk!

Use to be Bogong I heard, was Porepunkah when I 1st started doing it. What would be a better 4th day?

Going home?

Maybe clearspot, or something else out of bright - porepunkah has been mentioned before.

Would be nice to do something that’s a bit more nice singletrack than horrible orange firetrail.

Always liked the buffalo last day but I can see how it attracts people to come for the weekend with that rather than mystic on the Saturday

Total finishers across the four days (total W/M):
Buffalo 299 (169/130)
Feathertop 251 (130/121)
Hotham 179 (90/89)
Mystic 198 (103/95)
GC 140 (67/73)

It's also one of the few races that attracts more women than men (outside of women only races I mean) although it seems more guys actually complete all four days, marginally.

Yeah Bogong would be nice. I guess it's a bit harder for logistics though. I don't know all the trails well enough to suggest something else, but yes definitely something with nice single trail would be better.

Interesting stats, thanks Ricky.

It used to be Porepunkah, Feathertop,Hotham and Buffalo, in that order (with Buffalo the last day).
Reg Splatt (l think that was his name) and Mrs Splatt were the organisers. Mrs Splatt followed the event with a personal letter to each competitor, telling them how well or how badly they had done. My last letter said something like 'Dear Prue. Oh dear - what has happened to you?'
Well done Aislinn - outstanding effort!!!

That's amazing Prue! And brutal!
