Hi all,
I’ve been working on a kids orienteering program called KID-O for kids 0-7 (pre- independent orienteering age) and I have digitally created 104 controls description flash cards for the program.

I am wanting to know if there are people out there who would be interested in purchasing these cards if I got them printed. Would probably only be within Australia atm as I don’t know what the shipping price would be.
They would be $25 AUD per pack ( excluding shipping) A6 sized, 350gsm and shrink wrapped.

Two packs would mean you could play memory/ go fish or snap with them. Great learning tools.

If you’re interested respond below and if I get enough people saying sounds cool then I will know roughly how many to print.

Most likely I would have them before Christmas or for sale at Oceania in Tassie.
Thanks!

I’ve used some hand-made cards (one set with description symbols, another with map symbols) with slightly older kids. For a more active game on days we can’t go outside, I place a set of cards on a table at one end of the school hallway or gym, then run a relay race with 2 teams of kids. If a kid doesn’t bring back the correct card, e can consult with teammates then must run again until e brings back the correct card.
I’d certainly consider buying professionally printed sets of cards, I’ve often thought about designing a set and getting them printed.

I made small square images out of all the control description symbols; friends and I stored them on our phones (and cloud storage) and will occasionally text an image to each other so the other person can text back the meaning. (when we first did it before ranking event[s] we went through all of them heavily, but it can continue anytime/anywhere as a touchup/refresh.)

Anyone interested can access in my GD: https://bit.ly/3WiXN45

There's also a Word file in there that is basically the IOF tables jammed together so they all fit front/back of a single sheet landscape. I have a printed copy in a mapcase in my kit for anytime/pre-event refresh.

I think those flash cards would be some excellent orienteering race prizes! Maybe the association should buy them.

while it might not be economical to ship single sets overseas, I suspect that North American and European O' vendors might be interested in purchasing a stock of sets to re-sell.

Especially if they have some cute wombats and drop bears on them...
