Well done! That is a remarkably consistent HR once you got going.
Yes, my "run like hell' HR.
Indeed, well done as usual, Ernst. You have age-related legs and HR that 'fly like the wind'.
Two 90 year olds who finished is something to keep in mind — if only I can remember what it was I was going to do when I get up - if I'm still around at 90.
Yesterday was the NYC marathon, 50k strong, 75 degrees. Re Bostons, I was at the Newton fire station last Oct 11 when you ran by. Also recall your 3:08 a year or two before in our days of watching from downtown Boston. For that matter, my '68, '77, '78 come to mind as well. Perhaps marathons are 'forever'.
Speaking of marathons: Nancy and I are flying out to SLC on Saturday - I saw your posts on the approaching winter. Then the following Saturday, after sightseeing for a week, I will be running the Monument Valley Marathon on dirt roads and a bit of desert sand at the Monument Valley Park of the Navajo Nation. It will be my first marathon outside of New England. Looking forward to a different experience.
It will likely be your most memorable, too. We visit Monument Valley last month, the Navajo visitor center etc. The hotel is named
View Hotel as I recall. Didn't stay there - we were there taking in the sights, gift shop etc.
You should have a fine time seeing Utah's amazing canyon country.
