Tintin, Was the film a fail?? I thought it was really good. If you like Tintin are you an Asterix fan? I used to obsess over Asterix as a teenager. But in the UK we learnt French primarily so we could relate to it very easily. (It was only later in life I realised that if you knew Latin it was even better.)
But, yes, Tintin. Everything about it is wrong, but so right.
I'm an Asterix fan, but don't have my Asterix books any more. I may need to ask Santa for some help with that.
My Dad introduced me to Tintin and Asterix a long time ago. I bought a couple of Tintin collections (three stories in one half-sized book). Fun to read and, as you say, everything about it is wrong, but so right.
I read both Tintin and Asterix (I may have most of their albums) but my favourite among the French/Belgian comics is Spirou. Otherwise I´m a big fan of Peanuts.
I've been binge-reading Peanuts at the rate of one month per day, and I'm closing in on the end.
I have all Asterix albums except two quite new ones not made by Goscinny / Uderzo. 2019 Chieftain's Daughter is surprisingly good. All in Finnish but some also in English (like Asterix in Britain).
Saw the film, it was a good attempt but didn’t quite work. Too much focus on the 3D and the animation was a bit off.
