Registration for Ontario’s newest adventure run opens on Monday November 21st. Registration will be capped at 100 teams of 2 in our inaugural year. A special thank you to DontGetLost Adventure Running in helping us get this race off the ground.
The race will also be part of the 2022 Ontario Adventure Racing series with the host location being the same as the start of this year’s Wilderness Traverse AR.
Challenge the Shield was developed and co-founded by Wil Smith and Mike Waddington. Mike and Wil were long-time members of Canada's National Orienteering Team and both are former North American Orienteering Champions. Wil designed and built many of the MTB trails at the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre and also organized several Xterra multisport races in the Parry Sound Region. Mike co-founded the DontGetLost Adventure Running Series and Adventure Running Kids and was course designer of over a dozen Raid the Hammer races.
All Challenge the Shield profits are used for local trail development, map development and kids programs through Georgian Nordic Outdoor Adventure Centre and Get Outdoors Parry Sound.

0:45 - 2:00 feature the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre. It was a fun place, I enjoyed my time in there at a different race.
