Thank you so much for your work on the upcoming Possum Trot. I hope your foot is on the long road to recovery.
Thanks Tom. Looking forward to seeing you again. My foot is getting better every day.
Thanks from these quarters too! Looking forward to it, although I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew by entering the long possum. Looks like I'll at least have Sharon for company.
And it's great that you scheduled the Saturday sprint for the afternoon--that means that before heading to LawrenceI I can watch USA v Netherlands at the Men's World Cup live (9am to 11-ish Central time, although there is the possibility of it lasting until 11:30 or noon if there's overtime). I can watch it at Betsy's cousin's house (sister of the ailing cousin we came out to visit) in Overland Park, or it might be fun to watch it in a bar with other interested fans--but I suppose it might be hard to find a sports bar open in Lawrence at 9 am.
I'm sure the Red Lyon Tavern in Lawrence will be open for the game. We also have several avid "football" fans in OK and PTOC, I'm sure they're equally glad we got lucky with the scheduling. (Actually, we schedule a late start so people could drive from St Louis or fly from Denver :)
Agree about the Red Lyon. If anything it might not be possible to get in. I think I read that they were at capacity earlier this week.
I wouldn't be surprised if The Burger Stand and/or Dempsey's were also open with the game.
All three are downtown.
If you plan to come to Lawrence to watch, you could call any of the above and see if they plan to be open.
