I hadn't realized you were there -- I saw Phil finishing just as we were about to pull out of the parking lot but I had been changing out of wet clothes for several minutes before that.

That was a missed opportunity. Didn’t know she spoke Italian. Of course a lot of Europeans speak several languages. Francesca is also fluent in French Spanish and German.

I had finished maybe two or three minutes before Phil. Sorry I didn’t see you guys. I was just chatting Joe up a bit.

Olga says her English is not very good (still better than I speak anything other than English), but she speaks Spanish, Catalan, and Italian (I think her current residence in Europe is in Bologna), and maybe Galician (but only when she's drunk).

My great-grandparents (matrilineal), came from Galicia, but not that Galicia.

Which one? I had no idea there were so many.

Two that I know of. NW Spain and roughly eastern Poland/ western Ukraine. The capital of that Galicia was modern day Lviv, from whence arrived my great grandparents Max and Tessie.
