Spring semester starts January ... 9th (I think).
For the degree requirements, I just have a few research credits left, which I will take in the spring. All my research is toward the thesis.
The research just keeps going, regardless of semester, or classes. The more classes I'm taking, the less research I'm expected to do. I was working on research some in the summer even though I was at an internship, and not taking any research credits.
It does have bearing with regard to graduation. I have to defend my thesis the semester i plan to graduate, and propose at least 1 semester before defense. So if I wanna graduate in May, I had to do my proposal this fall.
