Says she, secure in the knowledge of where her XV's bonnet lever is (it's by your right knee as you would expect, but super-camouflaged and lower down than you'd expect)...but that doesn't mean I actually know how to do anything with what's under the bonnet!
Are you staying in Tas up until Oceania?
Yes. I have a nice long holiday planned (actually- 14 Dec was the closest date to 6 Jan when there was a car vacancy on the ferry - so l decided to take it and have an extended holiday). The downsides are staying in my hike tent for an extended period (in budget campgrounds) and missing Christmas gatherings.
The Able Tasman campsite, a few hundred metres from the ferry, was surprisingly nice foreshore camping for $25. I will go there for the return journey.
Tonight l am in a spacious unadvertised campground behind the Rocky Cape Tavern for $10 ( having refused to pay $34 for an unpowered hike tent site at Stanley or Smithton). I found it on the Rocky Cape NP website.
That reminds me I need to find somewhere to camp on my first night over, somewhere between Devonport and Latrobe. Also somewhere for the Hobart Shorts.
On the only time of 3 visits to Tassie that we took our own car the Security people checked our car then asked if they could plant some stuff to see if their new recruit dog was "up and running". He didn't find the items - oops.
Well, that is funny! You do hear of police allegedly planting contraband ….
