Discussion: Small gratification increments in orienteering

With the new year, there were several radio talk shows about New Year resolutions, how effective they are, they psychology behind them, etc etc.

One psychologist chimed in to say that the best plans are the ones with small increments of success, at which every occurrence, the participant can say I DID IT. The positive gratification feedback loop reward system gives more confidence to the participant, and positive outcome in the program/goal.

Orienteering the sport has that element of small gratification, every time a control is found by a participant.
