Discussion: MeOS - handling a second course

I can't easily find this information in the documentation or in the search.

Someone comes to an event, runs Yellow, downloads, gets a result, then they want to go out and do Orange with the same eStick.

Can MeOS handle use of the same stick twice for different courses? If so, any special process to follow?

It can do this and I wish I could point you in the right direction but I've not had direct experience with it. My old state of Western Australia used to use OE but transitioned to MeOS and I know for sure that people run multiple courses with the same stick (particularly useful for relays where two people run two legs each of a four leg course), something that couldn't be handled by OE. You probably just need to enter another course and the software will handle it without any extra effort involved.

From memory, and it has been a couple of years, this is all I did when running multiple sprint courses at the same event - just re-entered on a new course with the same stick.

Yes, you just have to enter them again. It would be nice if MeOS would remember who used the stick only an hour ago, but it won't. If you have the Runner Database enabled, it will go back the entry for that stick from before the event started, at least in some cases.

From what I recall, it does sometimes remember and there will be a pop up message on Sportident tab saying something like "this si stick number xxxx was bound to runner Tim M for this event, do you want to overwrite the existing result?" and you have to click No to be able to enter the new runner's name and class.

We often have people at club training events who do a second course or who borrow a stick that was used already by someone else at that event and Meos handles it fine (except when the download person clicks the overwrite the previous result button by mistake).

Edit: but this might be affected by which features are turned on for the event like Interactive Readout, Runner Database or Several Races for a Runner (though I think that is just for relays), so you might want to test it out.
