Awesome! How old is Finley now? You’ve given him such great adventures.

He's 14 now! He's really helpful with setting up the hot tent. For Christmas this year, one of my gifts to him was a map of Kawartha Highlands where we will go this year for his birthday canoe trip. I told him he could pick the route this year. He brought the map with him on the weekend and we went over his suggested routes. He did a great job! Not surprisingly, he picked options with minimal portages though lol.

:) Well, he'll learn the advantages of longer portages over time. That is really cool. It would be so fun to have a young family member to mentor. It's probably even better that he's someone else's kid so you can just focus on being fun and informative!

Exactly! I get to have all the fun with him without having to parent him and I get to give him back at the end, lol.
