Perth's had a bit of a tectonic shift since I lived there.

Also the bike path from Karrinyup Rd to Cedric St is the worst part of the freeway north bike path and you seem to have missed that bit. I don't recall the bit north of Karrinyup Rd being particularly appalling although it's not always nicely laid like the rest of it. When I was there at Christmas they seemed to be building a new path on the east side of the freeway. Hopefully it'll go under Karrinyup Rd like what they did at Hutton St a few years back.

The path wasn't really that bad, it was just that the road looked better at that point and I had no idea what road it was so didn't know it was going to get so much busier so soon.
AP always seems to be recording my climb as about double what Garmin does, I don't know why. It looks as though it is just exaggerating all the little climbs.

There is a new path on the Eastern side but it only goes as far North as Stirling, then onto a bike lane to Cedric St. There's about 1km of footpath along the N side of Cedric to Odin Rd, cross that and the 'Bicycle Boulevard' takes you all the way to Scarborough. The Boulevard is along streets where the speed limit is 30km/h and all side roads have Give Way or Stop signs so that bikes have priority. I've been further North on both the coast path and the Freeway multiple crossing paths a few times, but don't like either, so I try to put more kms in further South, either by going right around the river via Canning Bridge or down to North Freo through Nedlands, Claremont and Mosman. This route shows the Bicycle Boulevard.
