Yes good point. I need winter ones / higher - any recs? I was using hiking boots that I will NOT use going forward. I’m not sure my snowshoes will integrate well with running shoes, which would be my preference since they dry easily and I expect Canada in May won’t necessarily have a lot of fresh snow and cold temps. I’m expecting more heavy/melting snow that would make postholing difficullt, hence the snowshoe requirement. Definitely open to ideas on this one!

Outdoor Research Goretex gaiters are the standard. I use the Salomon X Ultra Goretex boots and like them a lot. I normally am not a fan of Goretex for racing but in this application it’s a must I think. I had dry and warm feet on both long treks in Bend last year with this set up.

Okay thanks for the tip! I’ll check them out. Does sound more pleasant than the set up I tried.
