A torn rotator cuff? For real? Like you need a Tommy John?

yeah that’s my concern too but the pain is very dull compared to the last time i did this back in 2002 so im not that worried.

I think tommy John surgery is for a torn ucl which is part of that whole thing, but down the line and eminently fixable. Rotator cuff is a bit of a harder nut to crack As far as I am aware.

good news is that Adria thinks it’s more likely just an irritation of the rotator cuff and the sub scapularis. maybe some swelling and tightness so keeping it loosened up is best. i’ve skied over 75km since it happened and no way it would be a full on rear giving my very low pain threshold

That sounds much better, but more bad news is that your pitching career is probably over.

Have you seen me throw a baseball or football? I blame a skiing rotator cuff injury in highschool for my lack of a baseball career (aka shitty at all throwing sports). Prior to that they called me the strikeout king! (But that wasn't for my pitching).

On the bright side, if you do get tommy John and you heal up ok you’ll probably be more durable and have a velo bump of couple extra mph.

Waiting for someone to weigh-in on Hammer's cricket potential.
