Would anyone like a "vintage" Garmin Forerunner 201 for free...? (Just pay me for whatever the shipping cost is, probably around $8)

Charger, data cable, manual, and velcro strap extender included. It's old and in very used condition, but it still works.

You will want to check this out for yourself but this 'as is' is probably worth over $100 in exchange credits if you happen to be in the market for a new Garmin device.
Some years ago I was able to turn in a non-functional Garmin Forerunner 205 for a rebuilt 235 for only $125.

Hi Gord, thank you for the tip! I searched and found that Garmin doesn't offer that trade-in / upgrade program anymore... I've tried selling it online for a very low price — no takers. :-P

Old Garmins had the best receiver/antenna, way better than what they produce today, so much better accuracy. Of course no "cool stuff" for millennials like blue tooth, or twitter :((

Damn, I used to trade in my broken 310s for a refurbished one (at a cost) and I presently have a 310XT and 910XT that both have issues - one doesn't work at all. Don't tell me I'm stuck with them!

I generally found the 235s pretty unreliable. Had to be re-set pretty often, failed completely pretty often. I don't remember how many of them I bought, or had replaced under warranty. More than a few. I have had a 245 for a while now and it has been very solid. No issues at all in terms of freezing up, failing to connect, failing to get satellites, all problems that were routine with 235s.

Heh heh. I replaced my 235 with a 245 a year ago because it looked like a fungus was creeping into the edge of the screen. (An electronic fungus not a biological one.) Anyway after a year my 245 fails to connect, and I have to hold my breath to even get it to charge. Got out the old thing, charged it up, and it goes! The fungus doesnt seem to have spread either.
