Depends on what you're talking about. It's fine if you're talking about a small liquor bottle, but not a Japanese person. Similarly, a "guinea" is an old British coin, but you shouldn't use it to refer to an Italian person. And it's OK to call an amphibian a frog.

That said, I think it's only in New England where those little bottle are called nips. In other places they're miniatures, shooters, or airplane bottles.

I'm not sure the fireball delivery devices coach is picking up would really qualify as "collectibles". Putting about a $2 deposit on them might change the landscape a bit.

Many of what I pick up are vodka glass bottles....collectors, they would probably love to dig around in my backyard, we actually have a small collection of small, some even tiny, glass bottles we have found.

Nancy's "collection" from the side of the road. 161 bottles so far, all unique (duplicates go in recycling).

Well, good for her. I never thought to "collect" them, all go in recycling.
