When is it?
It's a long way but you've got the right mental approach to get round it.

Jon X:
Saturday week (29th). You ever done it?

No, should, some day. Have walked/camped it over a Friday evening/Saturday morning with J9. I remember the track to Ingleborough from Whernside going on forever.
Oh and we ran two of the three on her 30th birthday weekend - 30k, 30 halfs (incl a yard) within 30 hours. Now that's why I married her :-)

Neil and I walked it a couple of years ago. We just dipped under 8 hours. I can confirm that it is a long way from Pen Y Gent to Whernside. It's also quite a long way from Ingleborough back to Horton.
Good luck Jon!

Charlie moaned the whole way. Just because I wouldn't let him stop for a sandwich. Best of luck.

I too remember the last bit back to Horton being a very long old slog in 2016... .albeit a very runnable one. Have a great run Jon.

Hopefully I can deduce from the above that it is not a long way from Whernside to Ingleborough :)

@olsoran I didn’t realise you had done it, I am off to study your log and splits for some top tips. Nice to have a target time :)
(Although permission issues with route off Pen Y Ghent mean it is 1km longer this year, great…)

Fill your boots :-) Jethro ran it more recently and far more quickly…..but he didn’t have the snow ;-)

I appear to have mostly walked round it in 6:10 - 70 minutes of running (probably mostly downhill)
and run round it in 4:10 with about 2:30 at tempo effort
watch out for the banana skins

Oh - I've also cyclocrossed round it in 3:36, but that is much further
and madder
