I saw a map just yesterday of English and Welsh LDPs and there was a Pennine Bridleway on it - not the exact same as the footpath, nor as far.

The question was academic really. I'm aware of the Pennine Bridleway (I've ridden the Mary Townley loop which forms part of it). I was running on the actual Pennine Way yesterday and was surprised at the number of mountain bikes given it's only a public footpath. The Pennine Bridleway at that point is a mile or two to the west.
It annoys me because I'm too law-abiding to ride my bike on public footpaths...
