JHen: Did you stop to take a look or just keep on running? My closest encounter was 5 times 10 feet and I got a very intimidating scolding from the giant weasel.

cmorse: the way the trail was going, I got a a good 10 second look at him at ever closing range without stopping, then didn't look back after passing him. But as I continued on, it occurred to me that that portion of the of the forest is prime fisher habitat and that tree looked particularly 'fisheresque' and that I suspect I might come across this fellow again on future runs. Such that I might start carrying a small digital camera with me on future runs....

I've come across a couple fishers (or more likely the same one multiple times) over the past few years over near Soapstone. Kinda make me think of an eastern Attack Badger.... Now I want to give this standard route a tougher macho sounding name like 'Killer Bee Test Loop'.... oh wait, that ones taken....
