cmorse: such an abbreviated walk you didn't even make it to the 't' in north, eh?

I'm taking Friday off and was going to commence mapping, but the weather is looking iffy, so I think I'll take a half day Thursday as well and start the mapping season then. I begin my day early enough that 'half-day' means leaving here at 10am... so that'll give me a good 3-4 hours in the woods hopefully...

JHen: Good plan. I'm thinking of putting my start/finish tent on the flat grassy area betwee the tennis/basketball courts and the baseball field next to the beach parking lot. Any chance the management will have a problem with that?

cmorse: I'm guessing that's probably ok, but depending upon events happening, most of the parking may be restricted to the lower lot along the road.

JHen: I don't much care how far away people have to park. I like its proximity to the rest rooms and the fact that it seems to be a pretty much unused area that doesn't normally see much foot traffic.

cmorse: I think a lot of folks out for a walk/hike head through there as its the direct path to the bridge across the marsh. But some of those folks might be interested in learning about orienteering too, so its a good spot. Plus you've usually got some good midday shade if your up against the veg boundary behind the tennis courts.
