Results won't be immediate, we have a lot of manual punch cards to go through!

Those are nice looking maps, covering a lot of territory. What mapping tools did you use to make them?

I was also curious about the mapping / design tools -- the control descriptions and course details were so well organized on page 2 (e.g., there were special icons to clearly convey lots of info in a small space). Gordhun, check this out: https://skypilots.org/learn/map.php

Drawing -- Open Orienteering Mapper. Straightforward to make custom symbols.

Contours -- QGIS and publicly available LiDAR

Satellite imagery -- Google Earth and CalTopo

Field Collection -- CalTopo, a compass, a level app on my phone, tape marks at various heights on our hiking poles, and knowing things like the total height of Ginny plus one of her poles (2.8 m) and the length of Denali's leash (5 m).

The LiDAR was excellent -- almost all of the Earth Pits and prospector-created Earth Banks were immediately apparent, or at least flagged for a site check.

We started this project May 2020, with about five or six relatively snow-free months each year, so it has been a while in the making.

This event was the best US-based orienteering event I've ever been to! Kudos to Eric and Ginny for their incredible work on this!!
