Fairbanks! And Denali! Jeremy has a friend that has some seaplane(s) up in Fairbanks and he invited us up to go fly/explore. We were headed to WA for my dad's birthday, anyway, so we thought adding a week in Fairbanks sounded like a perfect way to escape the east coast. Unfortunately, the planes we were thinking of using to fly up to the artic circle were all down for maintenance, but Jeremy got his chance to fly a Beaver on floats, and K and I got to do all the things I didn't get a chance to do last time I was in Fairbanks about a decade ago. And now both Jeremy and K are huge fans of Alaska, so I won't have to work too hard to put it in our vacation location rotation :)

Oh, wow. So cool! And glad you're in Seattle now, too - it is really lovely weather. Yikes on all the travel, tho - I got to do a Vancouver - LA - Albuquerque - Vegas - Bellingham route over about 36 hours to retrieve Peter from a BSA Philmont backpacking trip, and just that much was exhausting. I can't imagine your itinerary, or having to follow all that travel up with work, either. Best wishes!

Oh! For Anna, while we were in Fairbanks, there was a lady showing off her snake menagerie at the 4th of July party (another experience in and of itself- as fireworks are pointless in the land of the midnight sun), and while I neglected to get any pictures, she had several beautiful bel ball pythons, which Katherine was quite enamored with- especially the albino and banana.
