Humid today and I’ve found that has not helped with the cramping recently, like you I had lots of electrolytes today, I’ve also started using Magnesium body butter on my legs the day before a harder session and in the morning of session /race and think that helps.
Well done though, especially with part 2.

I need some descending tuition from you!

I’ve used Mg tabs for years after discovering they really helped with cramp, but might try the butter too! I think my descending has benefitted from coming off so many seriously rocky mountains in the last month that this seemed dreamlike by comparison :-)

Yes, I've done some but mostly it's either been thick heather (Beinn Dearg) which I struggle to plough through anyway, or more groomed stuff. Definitely needing some rocky stuff to remember how to dance!

I also take magnesium tabs nightly, i can get pretty bad night cramps in feet, but pre-loading my legs via the butter seems to help the legs. I've also started carrying a couple of salt tabs with me - thankfully not needed them; but last year when we were pulled on the Monte Rosa race, and I was writhing on the floor with excruciating adductor cramp, Sarah S gave me them, it was like a miracle!! I have a couple to the lass who finished behind me on Saturday who was in a pretty bad state.

Agree salt tabs are good too. I had one when I first cramped and think it helped ease it off, but should have been carrying more. I’ve just ordered some more tubes!
