Discussion: Walking for distance, time and miles

The walking I'm doing while working through the hip and hamstring issues on right leg have a very similar feeling as doing distance work in 1971. I've gone over 2 hours at least 3 times...have two 8 milers, one 9 miler and several 7 mile or slightly over hard walks.

Hopefully as I get back into running (IF I do...sometimes I wonder) I hope I can keep up the longer by time workouts....and increase the miles more...even 12 min plus miles would still be an average of almost 4 minutes faster...I really need to do long walks on Sunday as I start so slow anyway. There are few things that are more dreadful than going out for a long run in the dark morning of a dreadfully cold morning...even summer it's not a lot better...but walking really is not nearly as 'dreadful' to my psyche.
