| PG: | I think it is ok to be catching yourself on linear features off to the side, but you should be doing it by design and not by chance. Meaning -- (1) you should be looking for useful landmarks to each side and not just straight ahead, even if you can see a mile straight ahead, and (2) there are times when, yes, you can go straight, but it is much easier to run a little left or right of the line, like going to 9, where a little left and keeping in visual contact with the green wash and its various bends would make the navigation to a tricky control much easier.
This is common in an area of either a paucity or an over-abundance of features. |
