I got co-workers from my first and second accounting jobs to come along. The first one persisted for a season or two (Metro only); the second for a few years (all forms from memory and he already knew Simmo and PurplePower). Neither of them does it anymore.

Many years ago I convinced a fellow pharmacist to come orienteering around Flinders Uni because it's so close to the hospital. Turned out that she didn't own ANY sneakers/joggers/sandshoes so walked around the entire course in platform shoes, and one of her high heels broke off in the bushland section, but she finished!

Didn't come back again, strangely enough...

I was introduced to Orienteering in the UK by my boss in 1976, so sometimes people stay involved.

Strange but true: I've actually managed to convince one of these new ladies to join Wallaringa!

I even see her at her desk studying map symbols and control descriptions over lunchtimes :)
