Fun to watch a low-stress-for-Jayhawk-fans game. Furphy was fun to watch. He got a Ortg score of 210. I've no idea how Kenpom calculates that, but he had a nice game:

2 for 2 on 2 point shots
3 for 4 on 3 point shots
2 for 2 on free throws
1 offensive rebound and 6 defensive rebounds
2 assists
2 blocks
1 foul

I watched about half of the Wyoming-Fresno State game. Fun! DuSell had a nice game. I wonder if it helps to be playing against Wyoming.

Apparently the Ortega Score (Ortg) is some complicated statistic that KenPom dreamt up while a student at UW, some kind of algorithm that combines equal measures of FT %, turnovers/minute, oregano, and tarragon. The last two items supposedly make the score go down better, but what do I know.

Did you catch the UW outfitted DuSell with the shoes he played in? This was right before the game, because a bag of equipment was stuck under the disabled Fresno bus.

The commentary I have heard has made the point again and again that Kansas has 4 great guys, but lacks a 5th. Maybe Furphy will be able to develop enough to be that guy by the time the tournament starts.
