Discussion: bench

That can't be very common. On the other hand, KU would be a good team to bet on for getting a win with hardly any bench scoring. There are currently 353 NCAA teams with more playing time from the bench. Getting a lot of time from the starters is a characteristic of Self coached teams. By the end of last season, there were 360 teams with more playing time from the bench.

Furphy is fun to watch. Early in the season he got a lot of fouls playing defense. As soon as a ball handler drove, he'd get behind a half a step and get called for a foul. He's much better at that now.

I'm half-watching a replay of the Wyoming-Nevada game. The most interesting thing I've learned....the Nevada players drink beet juice the week before coming to Laramie to help acclimatize to the elevation.

That explains a lot. I've been wondering why the Kansas bench always looks so dispirited.

Furphy played well. He looked about 4 years younger than anyone on the floor or up in the stands, and nothing wrong with that.

No wonder Nevada has had such a tough time here lately. Things that would be better choices than beet juice to help with acclimatization: handling 12 foot long vipers from the Indian subcontinent, eating the raw livers from wild horses they catch by hand, competing in Red Bull Rampage, or playing basketball in soccer cleats that are 4 sizes too small. Or the better couple of Nevada players could simple enter the portal and transfer here. Then they would definitely acclimatize properly.
