Or just double pole up everything like the sprinters do now. :)
Trying not to blow my HR through the roof on steep bits.

So much kind sympathy from Hammer ;)
Sorry to hear that your low gear has been impacted. Hopefully it improves soon.

haha the reason for my “sympathy” is a bit of a joke because Emma’s boyfriend Nic was one skating everything (big hills included) at the start of this season because he “forgot how to offset”. so if you have upper body strength to do it …

Bent: i still find it puzzling how different our knee injuries are. i can’t classic without pain and you can’t skate without pain

I've pretty much "forgotten how to one skate" because I don't have any upper body strength!
Jan 31, 2024 3:50 AM #
My ski coaches would say, it's more about the legs and hips than the upper body ;)

True - not much strength there either, lol!

Hammer, that’s why we were such an effective team as 2 1/2 meniscuses. Complimentary weaknesses.

“Complementary” - I may be weak but I’m a good speller. ;)

“Menisci”? I expect Bash to verify with her complementary skills. If she can provide the final answer, I will be complimentary of her complementary skills. Of course, I expect this service to be complimentary.

Confirmed - compliments of the Province of Alberta, no less!
Jan 31, 2024 3:30 PM #
I think they decided that "Meniscuses" sounded funnier, though.
Jan 31, 2024 8:34 PM #
Oh, I'm getting clobbered on both counts. The plural of octopus isn't octopi, but I guess 2 1/2 MENisci it is... My complements to you all.
Oh wait...

from Grammarbrain:

The plural form of the word "meniscus" is "meniscuses". Forming plural nouns can be difficult. To form the plural form of the word, you'll base it on the last letter or last two letters of the singular word form.

Although most medical sources say "Menisci" is the plural, Merriam Webster says that both "Menisci" and "Meniscuses" are correct. Phew.

But it's NOT octopi??!!
*mind blown*

And... never trust anything from the Province of Alberta...
Jan 31, 2024 10:32 PM #
Except for you and VJ, of course.
