Has any orienteering club in North America been sponsored by them? Or, does anyone have any contact with the founder: https://hammernutrition.com/pages/founders-story

He seems like someone who might be interested in supporting orienteering. They are based in Montana, so our club has been talking about reaching out to them.

I've had good experience several Hammer products such as their electrolytes fizz, electrolytes capsules and the Hammer Gels.

I'd say no harm is reaching out to them.

Thanks Brian. To clarify, we are specifically looking for an 'in' with the founder, rather than trying to reach out generically.

They sponsored our Raid the Hammer 15’ish years ago. I mean the name was perfect fit.haha

Several of our races (and Cdn National Team, I think) are now sponsored by Stay Above Nutrition. A Hamilton, Ontario based company.

The CEO and Chief Scientific Officer is Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky, a long-time orienteer and adventure racer and former Cdn Ski orienteering team and NorAm Ski-O champion.

How many CEOs have an orienteering map in their hand on their company profile page?

Full disclosure: I am a share holder of Exerkine (Stay Above Nutrition’s parent company) as are several other orienteers. Contact me if interested in investment information. https://exerkine.com/news/article/a-game-changer-e...

Gookinaid probably pre-dated either of those having a presence as a supporter of orienteering events. Also a nutrition bar produced by Quaker. I don't remember the name but Oivind Naess probably would.
Quaker also sponsored a fund-raising cookbook that Orienteering Canada spearheaded by Ann Budge, produced and marketed. It is called 'Fit to Eat'.
But the more products the merrier.

Hammer Gel is a component of my "sure-fire" altitude sickness treatment, though because of the other components, the company would probably not have any interest in being associated with it.

I have been a user of Hammer Nutrition products for many years, since before they moved from California to Montana and were known as ECaps. I am on their autoship program, and also always place a very big restocking order every year during their year end sale. There products are great, and many are organic/vegan. Unfortunately I don't have any special "in" with their owner Brian Frank. They seem a very honest and reputable company, very willing to share their knowledge of sports nutrition through their publications and pamphlets and on their website on line. I think they started out initially appealing to bicyclists, but now have branched out to all other kinds of athletes where nutrition and energy production are important. Believe you me, their Perpetuum drink powder and Hammer Gels have kept me going through many long dark night hours of 24 hour Rogaines.

No inside info, but they sponsored our annual trail race for a number of years. It was never a problem getting product from them. Money might be a different thing.

Are they perhaps expanding their operations down under? https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/508242/why-has...

Following up on this post. Hammer Nutrition will be the sponsor and sports drink provider for the Pacific Northwest Orienteering Festival in 2024. Grizzly Orienteering is excited to welcome them as a partner!
