(From Rick Worner)
ROC just received sanctioning for an NRE Ultra-Long Event on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Ultra-courses are 50% longer than normal. The event will feature a wave start for people in the same age groups. The event will be held at Mendon Ponds Park just south of Rochester. Mendon Ponds features great facilities and easy parking. The terrain has some areas of complex glaciated terrain and generally good runnability. The park is close to many hotels, restaurants and the airport.
BFLO hopes to offer a double urban sprint featuring some of its cultural venues on Saturday, April 26 to complete the weekend.
The Ultra-Long was once an OUSA championship event.
Mark your calendars and get in shape for a great weekend.
Am I understanding correctly that will be mass starts by age group?
Something like this with adjustments to prevent waves from getting too large. The numbers at the end reflect the totals from the 2023 Masters Champs.
Here is an example start wave split with last event data for size of waves

Will you post the course lengths before registration opens/when it opens?
We're definitely talking 2025, not 2024?
Yes, 2025 is what Sanctioning approved it for. :-)
If you want a long-distance course in the meantime, please join us at the 12.5km Billygoat preparation course at WCOC's Pond Mountain event on Sunday April 28th, 2024.https://attackpoint.org/eventdetail.jsp/event_5745...
Yay--I love ultralong races! I hope I can make it.
