What was the problem??

I have a windows PC and the bar across the bottom wasn't working. This meant if I minimized any windows they would disappear and the little clock icon wasn't updating and I couldn't access lots of things (like Settings, or turning off, or my Garmin app). I have no idea what caused this problem. I must have done something, but again, no idea what.

After googling for a couple of days I found something that told me how to do a reset without having to go through the Settings menu. So I backed up all my files onto my external hard drive, crossed my fingers and did the manual reset. And this time when the laptop came back on, everything was working again.

PS - It took me a while to get used to the bifocals in my safety glasses that I wear when I orienteer. I didn't get a headache, but I was stumbling a bit when I first started using them since I had to learn to look through the non-reading part when I was not reading the map. But now it's pretty much second nature. I do wear them a little down my nose so it's easier to look over the reading lens since that's what I'm doing most of the time. I only need the bifocal part when I need to read the fine details for some reason.

Excellent job resetting your computer- whew!!! Regarding the glasses, I think mine are a little too strong for what I need and the difference of going back and forth is what causes the headache. but maybe as you experienced, it just takes a little getting used to. Where did you get your glasses?

Mine are just safety glasses with readers and I buy several at a time, some clear and some like sun glasses. And I get ones with anti-fog lenses which works on some but not others.
