Ok that didn't end how I expected. Glad Elena made her flight!

Regarding skis, there are some orienteers in Ottawa that could probably help with bringing skis to, say, West Point.

Sorry your day ended how it did, but at least you weren't one of the people in the car crashes. Fun to play boggle this weekend!

Oooh can you put me in touch? This makes way more sense than, like flying up there.

As someone who used to live and ski in Ottawa, this was great to read, especially the border guard. Really hope the skis turn up!

That idea about having the Gloppet finish down by the river, there was talk about doing that, but they went with the farther start up to Wakefield as a first step. The organizers weren't crazy organized (I think they used to mostly organize a hot-air balloon festival), but the point-to-point has gone well.

When Gatineau hosted a Sprint WC that was down by the river, which looked awesome. Part of the Tour de Ski in Canada (maybe 2015 ish?)

Yeah, we enjoyed it. I think we'd further enjoy a point-to-point with a bit more snow beforehand a bit less during the race, but beggars can't be choosers. And doing the Gatineau the week before the Birkie—a real Birkie—is a lot. I noticed that there's a new bridge … maybe something that you only do on a really good winter with not too much snow to move. It's just too bad Ottawa is so darn far away from Boston.
