Wish I could get standard magnification safety glasses to work for me. I have weird eyes.

Janet - my one eye is slightly different from the other - I do use prescription reading glasses… what do you use for map reading while orienteering?

JanetT:
Ann, I use an old pair of reading glasses with astigmatism correction, and a magnifying lens on my compass for the magnification. It's not a perfect system, especially on humid or very wet days.

Ah. Good call with the magnifying glass on the compass. Did it come with one or did you attach it yourself?

I think hughmac3 may have one (or more!) for you to play with, anniemac!

Just scored a magnifier, one of those wrist cluesheet holders, a buff, AND….GLITTENS! I had lost mine and they were discontinued…so happy! (Thanks bro!)

Yay! (What are glittens? Glittery mittens?)

I had bought my magnifier which attaches to a thumb compass from Scarborough Orienteering supplier when they were still in business, but I don't think they are anymore. It came with instructions to mount it in the hole on my thumb compass.

If I need to replace it I'd probably order from All4o, based in Europe but free shipping if you order over a certain amount.

GLITTENS are amazing. The are fingerless gloves that you can make into mittens by pulling a little flap over your fingers and one over your thumb. Gloves plus mittens. When the flaps are not used, they Tuck away easily. Dad’s are extra larges, but I don’t care! Very handy for fluctuating temperatures. Thanks for the recommendations on the Magnifier, Janet!
