I was there last fall for a wedding. I'm super excited to follow WOC!

Yes see you there Jon. The last time I ran in Edinburgh i ended up injured so i’ll likely only run the Arthur’s Seat WOC tour race and maybe get on an Aviemore area map for some training if that is an option while there. Etoile wants to visit Isle of Arran again. I’ve got unfinished business at Ben Nevis. I’ll likely be in the flow country in late August during a research visit to burned peat sites. so many decisions.

Is the plan to run to the summit of Ben Nevis, and then rappel down one of the sheer faces?

Highly recommend the Crannog at Garrison West restaurant for Fort William fancy pub food.
I trust you have thoughts on the Ben Nevis Distillery.

Will be there although will have a lot of IOF meetings - they usually schedule these to avoid the WOC races but some usually clash with the spectator events.

From my experience one needs to be careful about which Scottish forest areas to take on at that time of year. I once made the mistake of thinking it was a good idea to go out to the Trossachs when I was in Edinburgh for a conference in the second week of July - the bracken was over my head.
