My poem on rain:

What’s it like?

The rain, that is.

I miss it.

It hasn’t rained here since January.

The rash on my face is telling me it’s dry.

Cars on the street are a subtle hue of orange.

The fish pond is now a puddle.

So long fish.

I miss the rain.

Maybe next week.

I doubt it.

I rode my bike.

Of course it rained.

A few heavy drops, then

downpour.

Down my back, fills my shoes,

washes the salt from my helmet into my eyes.

Can't see, can't breathe.

Water from the sky and from my wheels.

Then done.

Sun.

Steam rises from the road.

Time to sweat again.

Poetry isn't my strongest point, but I can confirm that Adelaide has now had 46 consecutive days without rain. The record is 69. May or may not get a little tomorrow/Friday.

Both are beautiful poems :)

Blair, which year was that? I note 2007 was another year when Adl recorded no rain for February.

1893 - the four 60+ day dry spells were all in 1906 or earlier. Longest in modern times was 56 days in 2002, followed by 48 in late 2018/early 2019. 2007 managed 39.
