That's bizarre, on more than one level- pain and incompetence. Fibula fractures aren't normally difficult see on x-rays. I hope it's undisplaced and fusing well, if so, I guess you are unbooted?

The beauty of them missing it the first time is that I do not have a boot but have been bloody lucky not to make it worse.
The ultra sound shows that it is healing nicely.

I broke mine 15 years ago and they nearly didn't x-ray it, as I passed none of the Ottawa Rule assessment tests (orienteers don't have normal pain thresholds). A loud crack doesn't count! It was stable and undisplaced, and I wish mine had either been booted, or strapped as it would have healed quicker.
